According to an obscure news item appearing on the Italian Adnkronos International website (linked at Uruknet ), the right-wingers have come up with a crack-brained scheme to

end the war in Iraq by dividing the country into six fully autonomous territories.

Adnkronos gleaned the apparently secret information from several Iranian websites, including Baztab.

As the Iranians see it (no indication is given how they came across the information), the plan was developed by David Philip, a former White House advisor [working for the American Foreign Policy Council] and entails dividing Iraq up into

three southern regionsof the proposed sixto be placed under Shiite control, for two of the northern regions to be controlled by Kurdish forces and one region to be assigned to the Sunnis.

Interesting how this plan mirrors almost exactly the far right Israeli plan to balkanize Iraq, as detailed by Oded Yinon , a former senior Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry official who worked for the Strausscon Jerusalem Post. The late Israel Shahak, quoting Yinon, called these mini-states Haddadland, artificially constructed fiefdoms ruled by leaders completely dissociated from the population. As Shahak notes, the plan depends on the Arabs continuing to be even more divided than they are now, and on the lack of any truly progressive mass movement among them, a situation the Pentagon, through black operations, is currently attempting to pull off with pseudo-gang (think al-Zarqawi) false flag terrorist groups (for instance, sectarian bombings of mosques and assassination of religious figures, operations distinctly different than those launched by the resistance, viz., using suicide bombers against Iraqi police and security forces organized by the Americans).

In order for the American Foreign Policy Council plan to work, the Iraqis will need to be further divided along ethnic and religious lines, efforts that will likely result in civil war. As Paul Craig Roberts views it,

the planned Baghdad Offensive [Operation Lightning] is itself the beginning of a civil war. The 50,000 troops represent a Shiite government. These troops will be hunting Sunnis. There is no better way to start a civil war.

Bushs brain, Dick Cheney, more or less revealed the timeline for the balkanizing effort on Larry King Live. The level of activity that we see today from a military standpoint, I think, will clearly decline. I think theyre in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency, or rather the insurgency as now defined (instead of an insurgency, Iraqis will be, if the Strausscons realize their plan, fighting each other in a civil war that will ultimately result in the above motioned six pieces delineated along ethnic and religious lines). According to CNN , Cheney predicts that the fighting will end before the Bush administration leaves office.

The American Foreign Policy Council is staffed by noted specialists in foreign and defense policy, and serves as a valuable resource to officials in the highest levels of government, according to its website . In other words, it is a far right Strausscon confab dedicated to bringing information to those who make or influence the foreign policy of the United States, financed by the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, which also funded the Project for a New American Century and the American Enterprise Institute (see the Media Transparency entry on the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation and Bruce Murphys Neoconservative clout seen in U.S. Iraq policy ).

In short, David Philips reformulation of the several decade old Zionist plan to balkanize the Arab and Muslim Middle East appears to not only have grown a new set of legs, but is also considered to be the Strausscon exit strategy to the growing quagmire in Iraq. Of course, this crack-brained plan is certain to stir up immense resentment and resistance, as did the British Mandate early in the last century, especially due to the fact Iraqis realize they are being set-up once again, this time under the aegis of a gaggle of Zionists who dream of a Pax Israelica and, as Israel Shahak writes, the establishment of Israeli garrisons in focal places between the mini states, equipped with the necessary mobile destructive forces, provided, of course, but the United States, the last super-power that is, in reality, a Gulliver, a man-mountain, pinned down by a swarm of angry Lilliputians.
